Joel Corry’s first release ‘Back Again’ out now!

In case you hadn’t noticed, Joel Corry’s schedule over recent months has been nothing but jam-packed. Not only is this lad touring the country and rocking dance floors in every corner of the UK, he’s somehow managed to find time to train, enter and win not one, but two fitness competitions. And if that isn’t enough, Joel has also been busy in the studio producing his first release ‘Back Again’.

Joel has been playing the instant anthem in all his sets for a number of months and each and every time has witnessed a great response from the crowd. Back Again was picked up and signed by superstar DJ, producer and king of the Melbourne Bounce Will Sparks. Out now via Ministry Of Sound’s sub label Bourne Recordings, Back Again is available to buy here.

We asked Joel to give us the full lowdown on the track, how it all came about and how he’s found the experience making his first track! Here’s what he had to say…

“I actually started producing around the age of 17! They had a music studio set up in my college and that is when I started learning about production, studio engineering and the record industry! They used Logic in the college studios and I was using FL Studio at home, so I learnt both programmes! I enjoyed using Logic as it had so much to offer but I preferred to use FL Studio, as at the time I was into making Hip-Hop beats and FL Studio was great for making quick little cool loops.

Over the next few years I started to get into Dance music and my DJ sets became predominantly electro based! I was really focused on DJing and took a step back from producing my own music and instead started making a lot of mash ups and bootlegs to play in my DJ sets. However, I was always keen to eventually release my own tracks.

I jumped back into producing around 18 months ago! I was playing lots of Melbourne Bounce in my DJ sets and was really inspired by the sound! Some of the tracks coming from producers such as Will Sparks, TJR, Deorro and Joel Fletcher were crazy and in my opinion have given EDM a much needed new lease of life!

I invested money into my home studio, adding lots of new plug-ins and sample banks and got to work! My favourite synths to use are Nexus2, Sylenth, Spire and ANA. In the space of a few weeks I had come up with four or five decent beats, which ultimately lead on to creating Back Again! As soon as I found the Back Again melody I knew it was the one!

Funnily enough my breakthrough came when I started talking to Joel Fletcher on Twitter! Joel was so cool and when I told him about my track he wanted to check it out! Joel liked the track and then offered to pass it onto Will Sparks for me, who was in the process of launching his own label ‘Bourne Recordings’! I stayed in contact with Joel and Will, and when they were both over touring Europe we met up and I took them to their first football match, shame it was only Fulham vs. Blackpool ha-ha!

When Will told me he wanted to sign Back Again to Bourne Recordings it was a dream come true! Working with Will and the rest of the team at Ministry Of Sound Australia and Lucky Ent. has been unreal and I can’t wait to see all our plans unfold over the next few months! What is even more exciting is my next record is already finished and ready to go…watch this space! ;)”

Week on week Joel’s fan base is growing at a rapid pace and anticipation has been building nicely – ready for today’s big announcement. With over 239,000 Twitter followers, 73,000 Facebook Fans and over 3 million plays on SoundCloud, chances of success for Joel’s first release is looking likely.
